The name, Anant Ambani, might not ring any bells – but you may’ve heard of his father, Mukesh Ambani.

The Indian businessman, who controls Reliance Industries, is reportedly worth $101 billion.

Well, his son is worth a pretty penny, too, and in true tycoon style, he was recently seen casually strutting around wearing a ludicrously expensive timepiece.

The scion of Reliance Industries stunned onlookers when he walked into a kids’ birthday party donning a Richard Mille 56-01 Tourbillon “Green Sapphire”.

It’s not only a rare edition of the RM 056 Tourbillon Chronograph Sapphire, but it also happens to be worth a lot of money.

Said to be worth an eye-watering $6 million and decked out in green sapphire, the time-telling possession worn by Anant Ambani is one of the most expensive watches ever crafted by the Mille brand.

Per Hypebeast, rare green sapphire crystals highlight the watch’s entire winding tourbillon movement.

The manual winding tourbillon movement is highlighted thanks to the components that allow as much light as possible to enter the caliber.

The production of this sapphire structure apparently took years of research and testing, to ensure an adequate response to the demands of strength and comfort.

This complex watch features a manual winding tourbillon movement with hours, minutes, chronograph split seconds, power reserve, torque, and function indicators.

To be fair, it’s a timepiece that suits the uncrowned price of India.

And the best bit is – it’s not the only expensive watch Anant Ambani owns.

His father, Mukesh, may be Asia’s richest man who makes do with an $8,300 Rolex, but Anant has show an ultra-expensive taste and more than makes up for his father’s lack of fancy watches.

Anant’s personal watch collection includes some of the most exclusive horological creations by leading watchmakers likes Patek Philippe and Richard Mille.

Wonder if he owns any of these lavish watches the world’s richest people wear.

Perhaps he has one these expensive watches that come in the weirdest shapes.

Oh how the other half lives.
