Meet Brutus, the world’s most dangerous car that literally spits fire

This car has a 47-liter engine out of a plane.

It looks mad but even more insane is the noise it makes: it sounds like the four knights of the apocalypse descending on Earth during a thunderstorm.

Known as ‘Brutus’ and built on a chassis from a 1900s car, this crazy vehicle is powered by a BMW V12 originally designed for an aircraft.

Despite the sheer size of the engine, 46.9-liter to be exact (2,800 cu in), it ‘only’ makes 500 hp.

Top speed? In theory, it’s 200 km/h (120 mph).

In practice, the car is so scary and dangerous that only one person has tried to reach it.

The Brutus is an engineering experiment and a museum piece.

It was actually created at a workshop at the Auto & Technik Museum in Sinsheim, Germany, where it still lives.

It’s very heavy, tipping the scales at nearly 6,000 lbs (3,000 kg).

Even though it works, it’s a nightmare to drive.

First of all, partly because of the engine and partly because of the weight, it only does 2.8 mpg.

And that means it’ll only go for about 60 km (37 miles) on a full tank before running out of fuel.

Secondly, Brutus is actually powered by what’s called a fire engine.

It literally spits fire, and gives off a lot of heat.

The driver is located inches away from this monstruous motor, which makes it uncomfortable and dangerous.

Brutus is an interesting beast.

It’s powered by an engine out of airplane, which is always fun, and it’s essentially a 110-year-old car.

And it still drives.
