Ever seen a car dance? GM has released a video of the 2024 GMC Sierra EV and GMC HUMMER showing off their crabwalk feature on snow – and it looks like Swan Lake choreography.

As well as its slick moves, the GMC Sierra EV Denali is also getting the gift of range: up to 440 miles.

It was originally predicted that the GMC Sierra EV Denali would get an EPA estimated range of 400 miles – however, the car manufacturer has gone above and beyond that.

That’s thanks to its massive battery that was expected to top 200kWh.

Most electric trucks struggle to exceed 300 miles of range with weather, terrain, and load all sapping battery life – although the Cybertruck has been known to impress in the snow.

The range claims for the GMC Sierra EV Denali will need to be independently verified once deliveries begin this summer.

EV sales are growing, albeit slower than in previous years, with the Ford F-150 Lightning, the iconic Cybertruck, and world top-seller BYD leading the charge.

The landscape of charging infrastructure should help boost sales – like Tesla’s upcoming retro diner.

The Edition 1 version of the truck has an estimated 562kW of total power (754 horsepower) and 785 pound-feet of torque while in Max Power Mode.

The truck will be capable of carrying 658kg (1,450 pounds) of payload and towing up to 4,536kg (10,000 pounds).

In line with GM’s theme of overdelivering, both of these surpass the initial estimates.

An 800-volt architecture will enable DC fast charging up to 350 kW.

That means 100 miles of range per 10 minutes.

Of course, it will have crabwalk, a unique 4-wheel steer mode on some GMC vehicles in which the rear wheels mimic the angle of the front wheels at low speeds.

This allows the vehicle to move diagonally and increases maneuverability when off-roading or parking.

Want more of these cool maneuvers? This 8-wheel monster truck can crab walk and ‘swim’ through the ocean.

In addition, this Chinese EV has an incredible feature allowing it to shake off snow like a puppy.
