Flight crew member accidentally catches ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ Falcon 9 liftoff

Passengers flying on a plane passing Cape Canaveral in Florida unwittingly got a front row seat to the launch of Falcon 9.

A flight crew member, who goes by @chefpinkpr, was working during the plane journey and accidental caught the liftoff on camera.

Although the part-time TikToker – who’s called Nelito and usually posts cooking content – uploaded the “once in a lifetime” video to the platform.

“My plane flew by Cape Canaveral and caught SpaceX Falcon 9 launch!,” Nelito wrote across the video.

The TikToker included an emoji to signify it being a ‘mind-blowing’ experience.

Nelito’s video was captioned with: “While working my flight we witnessed this one in a lifetime phenomenon!”

It’s not clear when the video was captured, but one Twitter user shared a similar video on 26 November, 2022.

In that particular video, we get a view of the SpaceX rocket launching from a vantage point above, with a clear perspective of its take-off and upwards trajectory.

TikTok users were quick to share their awe after viewing the video, with more than 28,000 comments appearing beneath.

“We watched the launch nearby, saw your plane and said ‘wow the view they must have,'” one user commented.

“Wow, can’t believe they launched that with a commercial flight that close,” another posted.

“Imagine watching this and just seeing a rocket coming right at you,” a third said.

Some users even had sympathy for those passengers sitting on the opposite side of the plane.

“Passengers on the right side seething,” one user wrote.

“I would definitely be on the other side of the plane,” another commented.

“I would be fuming if I was on the other side of the plane,” a third posted.
