A new Forza Motorsport is on the way and the gameplay looks epic.

The first trailer plus 5.27 minutes of gameplay was shown at the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase 2022.

And it’s basically a reboot of the series with a stack of cool new features and incredible graphics.

The first thing we noticed is the numbered sequels are gone, it’s just called Forza Motorsport.

The trailer showcased a bunch of different race categories, from American muscle to tuners and open-wheel racing.

The gameplay showed off fan-favorite track Maple Valley.

Some devs at Turn 10 Studios said the new Forza will have a 48 times improvement in the fidelity of the physics simulation.

So it’ll be a true next-gen racing game.

New features in Forza Motorsport

There were a couple of major updates announced at the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase 2022, which will make Forza fans very happy.

The game promises a new level of realism, starting with tire and fuel management.

There will also be multiple tire compounds and in-car building.

The devs were very proud of the time of day and weather physics.

These can be changed for every track and will directly impact the race, with the track temp and tire grips interacting with each other.

Car damage got a big plug in the announcement too.

Rival PlayStation’s Gran Turismo 7 has copped criticism for its (lack of) car damage.

And Forza was very keen to show some incredible slow-motion crashes.

The devs say car damage is reproduced down to individual scratches on the bodywork.

Paint will peel away and dirt even builds up on the edges.

What do gamers want from the new Forza Motorsport?

The top comment on the YouTube trailer was for the inclusion of some prestigious events like Pikes Peak and the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

There was also a stack of comments about if the new Forza will have virtual reality (VR).

And there was a lot of hype for pit crews, which we catch a glimpse of in the gameplay.

Forza Motorsport is coming in Spring 2023 to Xbox consoles, PC and cloud.
