Halo Infinite Campaign Co-Op still has no release date

Halo Co-Op is one of the fondest memories of gamers who were playing back in the days of the OG Xbox.

But those yearning for its return have not been given the news they wanted, with no release date in sight for a Campaign Co-Op mode.

The Halo series has been around for more than 20 years and its newest release – Halo Infinite – was the first time back in the universe in six years.

The game was well-received on its November 2021 release, but depending on who you ask, it isn’t exactly finished.

Halo Infinite was released with single-player and multiplayer modes, but notably absent was the Forge level creator/editor mode.

And the mode in which the series got its roots long before Xbox LIVE – Campaign Co-Op split screen.

343 Industries, developers of Halo Infinite, gave an update where they spoke of issues negatively impacting the player experience and their work on completing Halo Infinite Season 2.

But sadly there is no release date in sight for both Forge mode and Campaign Co-Op mode.

“We’re making great progress on Campaign network co-op. And to be clear, this work has been occurring in parallel to Season 2 work, as has our work on Forge,” a statement from 343 Industries reads.

“But the reality is that it’s going to take more time to land a high-quality, full-featured 4-player network co-op experience in the massive, wide-open world of Halo Infinite.

“We’re also committed to a great 2-player split-screen co-op experience on all Xbox consoles, from the original Xbox One through Xbox Series X.”

The devs go on to mention that Halo Infinite’s unique non-linear, wide-open Campaign has presented challenges on how the problems of adding the Co-Op mode can be solved.

343 says it is still aiming to deliver the fan-favorite mode later in Season 2, which started May 3, but as of now, they cannot provide a hard release date.
