This is the Colossea, a gigantic superyacht that comes with its own detachable airship.

This 669-foot ship is one of the largest ever designed – and the most expensive.

Let’s start with the bad news so we can get it out of the way, because the ship is unfortunately just a concept.

It was penned by Lazzarini Design Studio, the same company behind the turtle-shaped yacht Saudi Arabia is working on as well as other quirky yachts, such as the swan-shaped one.

This one isn’t necessarily their craziest design, maybe, but it is definitely the most majestic.

For starters, the yacht is fitted with its own airship, stationed on its upper deck which, among other things, is also the helipad the airship can use for takeoff and landing.

According to Lazzarini, Colossea is a spin-off prototype derived (and inspired) from Plectrum, which is another futuristic superyacht designed by the firm.

However, the Colossea is also a tribute to the N1 airship Norge – the first manned vehicle to reach the North Pole in 1926.

The blimp designed to fit on the upper deck is very nearly as large as the ship itself, and definitely larger than most yachts.

It has enough room for 24 passengers and 10 crew, whereas the the yacht offers 22 guest suites and multiple decks, along with swimming pools both indoor and outdoor.

Even though this is just a concept, Lazzarini would be happy to team up with a shipyard to actually build it.

The problem is, it would cost at least $1 billion to get it done.
