2023 marks 60 years of McLaren.

What finer way to celebrate that milestone than with a new McLaren Speed Champions LEGO set.

That’s right, McLaren has once again teamed up with the Danish toymaker, this time to reimagine two of its most iconic supercars: the McLaren F1 LM and McLaren Solus GT.

Although the pair have been creating models together since 2015, this is the first time they’ve created a Speed Champions double pack.

Both LEGO creations pay homage to McLaren’s technical innovation and design language, with authentic details from the real-life cars.

This includes the Papaya Orange color of the F1 LM, its central driving seat position, and cooling ducts on both sides.

On the other hand, the Solus GT sports a central single-seat cockpit design and high-downforce rear wing, just like its track-focused twin.

The 581-piece set also features two LEGO minifigure drivers in their his and hers McLaren ‘race suits’.

The F1 LM is 4cm high, 15cm long and 7cm wide: the Solus GT is 4cm high, 16cm long and 8cm wide.

“As 2023 marks the 60th anniversary of McLaren and our founder’s passion to create the ultimate supercars, we felt this was the perfect opportunity to come together with the LEGO Group and celebrate some of the iconic McLaren road cars whose designs were born of that vision,” said McLaren Automotive Chief Designer Goran Ozbolt.

“Whatever age you are, you can have fun building and exploring the cars and through that I hope we can inspire future designers and engineers who will help us look to the next 60 years and beyond.”
