Luxury vintage car hoisted 58 stories by crane to penthouse in Canada

A wealthy Vancouver resident decided he wanted to park his rare vintage Porsche right in his living room.

This was a bit tricky, considering he lives in a penthouse, but the vintage Porsche owner didn’t want to let this ‘tiny’ detail ruin his plan.

And so he simply had the car hoisted 58 stories.

The car in question is rare – it’s a 1975 Porsche Speedster – but the fact that the owner had it hoisted isn’t.

It sounds wild but it is actually common, relatively speaking.

Billionaires and millionaires regularly do this.

We’ve seen this happen in Australia, with a McLaren Senna GTR, and again in China, with a Rolls-Royce Ghost.

It’s strange, but true.

Parking a nice car in your living room, without actually driving it anywhere, may sound like a bit of a waste but these days, cars have become collectibles.

Actually, we should perhaps rephrase that.

Rare and exotic cars have always been collectible goods, and owners tend to park them in air-conditioned garages to preserve their value.

This is nothing new, but the trend has been growing in recent years chiefly, we suspect, because a lot more people realized just how bad inflation can be and, as it turns out, cars are actually a solid investment.

According to a study conducted by Classic.com and shared by Forbes, valuable classic cars outperformed both the housing market and the S&P 500 in the 2020s.

So there you have it – that’s today’s top tip.

All you need to beat the market is a rare, exotic car that costs six or seven figures, and a penthouse with a living room where you can park it and watch its value go up.
