Apple is working on the new iPhone 15 and rumor has it, it’ll be a lot more expensive than the current model.

And it’s not like the iPhone 14 is cheap.

According to Bloomberg, Apple is considering raising the price for Pro and Pro Max models.

When you word it like that, it sounds like the price increase won’t concern the ‘base’ model, but we wouldn’t be so sure.

Apple has always made the latest iPhone more expensive than the previous one.

The price increase has often been incremental and subtle, so we hardly noticed.

However, when we zoom out, we’ll quickly realize that the first iPhone was $499, while the iPhone 14 is $799.

To be fair, there’s a 15-year gap between the first iPhone and the iPhone 14, so in essence what you’re looking at is just the price adjusted for inflation.

However, when it comes to new iPhone 15, the price increase won’t be so subtle.

Barclays analyst Tim Long believes prices for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will increase by $100 and $200, respectively.

As a result, both the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max will cost over four figures.

Also, on a side note, as with the previous model, the iPhone 15 will not include a Mini version.

Apparently, the iPhone 12 Mini and 13 Mini didn’t sell that well, so Apple decided to discontinue the Mini line.

Why so expensive?

The new iPhone 15 Pro is expected to feature a new periscope zoom camera.

The new module doubles the 3x optical zoom of the iPhone 14 Pro Max, bringing it up to 6x.

Also, the new phones should be made from titanium, rather than stainless steel, making them more durable.

It’ll be thinner as well, and it’ll be fitted with the next-gen A17 chipset.

Having said that, whether it’s expensive or not, it’ll probably sell like hot cakes.
