New York’s eighth-richest female billionaire is not a very public figure, but she definitely has an interesting story.

Compared to America’s other billionaires, she likes to live her life very low-key and under the radar.

With a net worth of $3.2 billion, the pioneering billionaire is the Global President and General Manager of the second-largest cosmetics company in the world.

Despite being born into a prestigious family, Jane Lauder has made a name for herself in the cosmetic industry.

Her family owns the Estée Lauder Cosmetics, which has been in business for over 70 years.

The Stanford graduate is the third generation of the Lauder family that has successfully led the long-standing empire.

However, before joining Estée Lauder in 1996, she had also worked in the field of advertising.

Well, Elon Musk worked at a farm and a lumber mill as his first job – everyone has to start somewhere.

Since joining the company, Jane has worked in multiple different roles.

She went from being Estée Lauder’s global president and general manager to its first-ever Executive Vice President (Enterprise Marketing).

Jane is also the Chief Data Officer responsible for developing company-wide strategies.

Other than being a successful businesswoman, the relatively unknown billionaire has owned some amazing homes over the years.

She once owned a pre-war penthouse apartment in New York’s Upper East Side that sold for $8.9 million in 2012.

The unknown billionaire once owned a spectacular Hampton’s beachside cottage.

However, the cottage fell victim to Hurricane Sandy in 2013.

Fortunately, she still owns a $12.63 million triplex in Nolita.

Other than her business success, the billionaire is a driving force behind the ‘Women in Business’ initiative.

A program that mentors women entrepreneurs and creates opportunities for female leaders in the beauty industry.
