If ever proof were needed of just how incredible the Toyota Land Cruiser is – this is it.

The above video, originally posted to Reddit, shows the trusty off-roader driving up an insanely steep slope.

The rate as which the Land Cruiser Prado powers up the incline without losing traction has to be applauded.

It can’t go without mention, though, how much skill and experience the driver must have to pull off such an amazing feat.

They’ve clearly got both in abundance, not to mention a lot of nerve.

Then again we shouldn’t be surprised.

Toyota SUVs are famously capable of anything, especially the Land Cruiser and the Hilux.

It remains to be seen whether the new, upcoming electric Toyotas will be capable of achieving the same things.

Ironically, despite being a pioneer in the world of hybrids with the Prius, Toyota is taking its sweet time developing new EVs, chiefly because it does not necessarily believe that’s the way to go.

In the meantime, they’re still developing new types of engine, including a highly sophisticated hydrogen hybrid engine.

The prototype was produced by leading mobility technology company, AVL Racetech in collaboration with Hungarian HUMDA Lab.

A 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine boasting 405 horsepower and 500 Nm (368 lb-ft) of torque.
