Toyota has teamed up with an Australian jewelry designer to create diamonds from its new Toyota C-HR car.

The gemstones will be made by melting down car parts.

The C-HR Diamond Collection consists of thirteen bespoke pieces.

It includes nine rings, a necklace, a bracelet, earrings, and a grill.

The car jewelry

To celebrate the launch of the new Toyota C-HR in Australia, Toyota has partnered with Australian jewelry designer Millie Savage and diamond creator Heart in Diamond.

The innovative campaign and unique capsule collection reflect the angular aesthetic of the Toyota C-HR being inspired by cut diamonds.

The Japanese car manufacturer is melting down parts of its cars and transforming them into gemstones and lab-grown diamonds.

Each piece in the collection has a name matching a part, feature, or function of the car, like the Cruise Control Ring and the Chained Up Necklace.

Prices range from $820-3,150 – however, some pieces are already sold out.

A video about the collab by award-winning director, Michael Hill, shows a robot carefully dismantling the car to extract carbon parts for the jewels.

Millie Savage said: “The whole concept of a car’s metamorphosis into diamonds felt like weaving two distinct worlds together, blending automotive innovation with eternal diamonds and hand-crafted jewelry.

“This unique transformation made the collaboration with Toyota truly inspiring.”

In Toyota innovation that never made it to the road, the bizarre Toyota Pod had emotions and could wag its tail.

Toyota C-HR

The new European-designed and built Toyota C-HR is a premium compact SUV combining stylish European design and frugal hybrid performance.

Per Toyota: “A significant increase in luxury and performance compared with the outgoing generation, with the choice of two new-generation hybrid powertrains and the introduction of a range of new technologies for safety, comfort and convenience.”

It’s made from a range of recycled materials and no animal-derived products.

In other Toyota news, the Toyota Prius recently set the world record for the highest MPG across America.

In further proof of exceptional performance, the highest mileage Toyota Prius left one car dealership in shock.
