Man shows off cameraless iPhone specially made for specific reason

Given how much time we spend taking photos, the idea of a cameraless iPhone may strike many of us as odd.

Cameras have been consistent ever since the first iPhone was launched in 2007.

The first model had one lens and the latest iteration has three, so it’s always been a feature.

But one man is in possession of an iPhone with zero lens.

Is Apple making iPhones without cameras?

The bizarre creation was shared to Reddit by a user who claimed his friend had been given a cameraless iPhone.

Why?

Because he worked at a nuclear power plant where no cameras were allowed.

The image left other Reddit users in shock.

However, many maintained that Apple hadn’t made the phone themselves.

One user wrote: “Apple themselves don’t make these phones, they’re produced by 3rd-party companies which buy from Apple and remove the cameras and sell them to government agencies.”

Another reiterated this explanation: “There is no way to buy an iPhone that has no camera.

“You could disable the Camera app from the iPhone in Restrictions where you can disable features like Camera, FaceTime, Safari (Internet) etc… e.g. if you have a child.

“But from a hardware standpoint? No, sorry there is no way to remove the cameras.”

So there you have it – if you’re hoping to pick up an iPhone with no camera at your local Apple store, you’re out of your luck.

Apparently, your best bet is to get a job at a nuclear power plant that is touchy about cameras in the workplace.

However, it’s not improbable that a cameraless iPhone could be released at some point in the future.
